A refreshed digital experience capturing the spirit of “Island Time”
Flinders Island Business Inc (FIBI) is a not-for-profit organisation led by a volunteer board dedicated to unlocking the economic potential of the Furneaux Islands.
With a vision to strengthen the region’s tourism and local business ecosystem, FIBI partnered with OSKY to reimagine its digital presence. The goal was more than a website redesign, it was about creating an experience that inspires visitors to explore the island, plan their journey, and connect with the community once they arrive.
OSKY began with an in-depth discovery phase, hosting collaborative workshops with FIBI to identify both the organisation’s objectives and the broader tourism goals for Flinders Island. Together, we mapped out user journeys that prioritised simplicity, trust, and inspiration, ensuring the website would engage travellers from the moment they land on the homepage.
Drawing on the island’s relaxed character and the philosophy of “Island Time”, OSKY’s design team developed a bright and welcoming interface that reflects the charm and authenticity of Flinders Island.
The layout and visuals encourage exploration, blending vivid photography with clear navigation and thoughtful storytelling to highlight the island’s experiences, people, and natural beauty.
To provide visitors with the most accurate and up-to-date information, OSKY integrated the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) directly into the site. This ensures that accommodation, dining, and local experience listings are automatically updated, making it easier for travellers to plan and book their stay with confidence.
The new Flinders Island website delivers a modern and intuitive experience that captures the island’s unique appeal and community spirit.
By combining seamless UX design with real-time data integration, OSKY helped FIBI create a platform that promotes tourism, supports local businesses, and strengthens the economic sustainability of the Furneaux Islands.
The revitalised site now serves as the digital gateway to Flinders Island – a place where visitors can slow down, explore, and truly experience life on “Island Time”.
